Technologies for Sustainable living at Jnana Jyothi Campus
GREEN TECHNOLOGIES IN JNANA JYOTHI
a) Eco-friendly building material, less of cement, random rubble masonry, clay blocks et al
b) Solar Lighting - using Photovoltaic arrays, long last batteries, providing a clean uninterrupted light source for Interior lighting in all areas, meditation center, street lighting
c) LED Lighting - for all lighting powered through solar energy, using DC supply direct from batteries
d) Rain Water Harvesting - Clean multi layer filter chambers, collecting rain water from all roof tops, into a large 25000 litre sump, used for normal purposes
e) Solar Heating for hot water (Pretty common)
f) Bio-Mass cooking using Bio-Mass Briquettes made from agricultural waste products
g) Hot water for cooking using recycled heat from Bio-Mass stove
h) Gobar Gas plant - Using cow dung, and plant waste, providing clean gobar gas for cooking, and organic manure for plants/tree in the campus
i) Water from hand wash and washing areas directly fed to plants, and not to any sewage system
h) Eco-Vents to provide for air circulation, and keep interiors clean
i) Embedded glass blocks in ceiling, providing natural light all day, and reducing time requirement for artificial lighting
